At the hem of Christ’s cloak you wept. At the foot of Christ’s glory you bowed. At the center of centuries you stood, one with the resurrected One, who with two scarred hands, wiped away your tears.

For you were convinced that neither death nor life…nor anything else in all creation, would be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To you, our mothers who are in heaven, holy are your names.

While on earth, you humbled yourselves and followed, so that God’s will would be done on earth as it is in heaven.

You fed us, daily serving up the Bread of Life.

Through your prayers, you guarded our lives from temptation and evil, ever drawing from the Fountains of Life that sustained you.

For you knew the Maker of all things past, present and future, the Builder of the Kingdom to come—the Father, Spirit, Son—

Who was and is and always will be, forever. And ever!

To all our mothers, we offer our deep, deep love and endless thanks this day.

Thanks, Mom.
