Sometimes a piece of writing finds its way into the world and you begin to notice the path it takes. Some of you know the looong journey I’ve been on—in more ways than one—and that I recently started a Substack called Letters from the Road Home to stay close to the work.

I’ve been taking it slow… and am now ready to ask if you’d mind following me over there? You don’t have to do anything. I’ll transfer my current subscribers so my posts will simply arrive from my new home instead of here.

Regrets only please.? ❤️

I’m so grateful for your friendships and encouragement over these past 13 years. It would break my heart to lose connection. You’re the ones who made this space my cozy home.

And somehow, it’s all brought me here today: playing my new record player—a Mother’s Day gift from my son and I almost took my records to Good Will—listening to my life in music as I finish the “protein diet” on my manuscript, reducing it from 106K to 90K words before resubmitting it to an “intrigued” publisher. (Long sentence, I know. Just read an old copy of Sara Crewe I found as I was getting rid of stuff… such long paragraphs too.) ☺️

1641 words to go… ❤️

Oh, and I should also say—my WordPress archives will remain here, open and available anytime for revisiting older work. This space isn’t disappearing; it’s simply resting in place.

Abstract by JR Korpa

“Writing Us Home” was recently published by the Wisconsin Writers Association in the latest issue of Creative Wisconsin… and somehow, it feels like it found its home there too. 🤍
